Riverstone Community to Offer Many Family-Friendly Amenities

September 11, 2016

Madera, CA - To know Riverstone is to know it’s a very unique master-planned community. At more than 2,000 acres in size with over 6,500 eventual homes, Riverstone—when complete—will feel more like a brand-new town. What’s on the drawing board for Riverstone is nothing short of a completely one-of-a-kind Central Valley community—one that’s brimming with an abundance of amenities and experiences designed for family fun.

The Lodge at Riverstone will be a community clubhouse in a class by itself. Showcasing architecture that combines the rusticity of farm with the magnificence of the west’s National Park lodges, the venue is expected to offer a fitness center, pool, spa, cabanas and more.
Just a short walk or bike ride away from Riverstone’s first collections of new homes, Adventure Park is anticipated to offer play structures, climbing boulders, three different slides, a small amphitheater, and grassy areas for all kinds of kid-sized fun.

Riverstone will feature eight distinct Districts, each one offering its own unique sense of place and collection of amenities. The first one, the Lodge District, is currently under construction featuring new homes from local, award-winning McCaffrey Homes, as well as Lennar Homes. Model homes are anticipated to open late 2016. For more information, homebuyers are encouraged to visit the community’s website at www.RiverstoneCA.com and add their name to the Interest List.

Gracing the heart of the Lodge District is The Lodge at Riverstone, a resort-style community clubhouse that’s simply in a class by itself. The first of several clubhouses to be built at Riverstone, The Lodge is a contemporary, agrarian-influenced structure that’s anticipated to feel like a magnificent National Park lodge of yesteryear (but with modern-day innovation). The Lodge will offer a Great Room and flexible gathering places with WiFi, and a state-of-the-art Fitness Center with advanced exercise equipment. Just outside will be a resort-style pool and spa with poolside cabanas, a children’s pool, an outdoor bar with firepit conversation areas, a demonstration kitchen and community garden, as well as the Gear Barn, an outfitter’s cabin. In addition, a Concierge will be stationed in The Lodge to plan community-wide events and smaller gatherings as well as assist homeowners with nearly any need that arises.

Neighborhood parks situated conveniently close to home will be sprinkled all throughout Riverstone. A total of five neighborhood parks will soon take shape in the Lodge District, including Adventure Park, an active play area with spaces designed for children from ages two and up; and Garden Park, a more relaxing venue with planned barbecue areas, shade structures, and a large communal table ideal for outdoor dining.

Miles of hiking and biking trails at Riverstone are planned to link all of the residential districts together. The first trail completed will intersect existing agricultural lands, leading to an overlook affording picturesque orchard vistas. A series of engaging outposts is an envisioned amenity along the trails, offering places for a workout, a picnic, or just a spot to relax while connecting to the natural soulfulness of the land.

Appealing to an important member of today’s families—the family dog—is Riverstone’s Dog Park. The park is envisioned to include canine-loving amenities such as trees, dog fountains and open-space areas ideal for running, frolicking and Frisbee catching. The dog park will feature separate areas for small dogs and big dogs, both with their own separate, gated entry. The separation will help ensure that both the dogs and their owners are able to enjoy a better, safer park-going experience.

As a tribute to the land’s farming heritage, Riverstone Farms is a proposed community farm envisioned to yield all sorts of great-tasting goodness—from oranges and kale in summer to root vegetables in early fall. The open-air venue is also expected to host homeowner events throughout the year, everything from family reunions to unforgettable farm-to-table culinary celebrations.

Education is a top priority at Riverstone, and design planning is already underway for the community’s first on-site school. The planned schools at Riverstone will belong to the award-winning Golden Valley Unified School District. Nurturing nearly 2,000 students through nine schools, the district is known for academic and sports excellence. The district’s Liberty High School, for instance, boasts a graduation rate of 96.18%, the highest graduation rate in the region. Golden Valley Unified also maintains a better-than-average student-teacher ratio of 24:1, and was named a Silver Award recipient for Best High Schools from U.S. News & World Report.

Riverstone is also approved for 191 acres of commercial development alongside Highway 41 and Avenue 12. A large retail center will provide the modern-day conveniences today’s homeowners expect, with an initial-phase offering of a grocery store, office space and other retail businesses serving the region.
