Riverwalk Destination Envisioned for Riverstone

June 17, 2018

Staying true to its vision of creating a new kind of Central Valley new-home community that ventures beyond the status quo, the developers of Madera County’s Riverstone have begun the planning and marketing activities for a new retail district focused on providing unique experiences in shopping, dining and entertainment. Anticipated to occupy the southwest corner of Avenue 12 and Highway 41 near Riverstone’s first collections of new homes, the new development—known as Riverwalk—will offer as much as 500,000 square feet of commercial space including retail, office and entertainment.

With a planned location alongside Highway 41 and Avenue 12, Riverstone’s new mixed-use Riverwalk destination will offer unique experiences in shopping, dining and entertainment—all with an engaging social vitality.
Riverstone’s agrarian spirit will live on at the community’s future farm and rustic market, a planned venue that’s anticipated to offer a wide range of merchandise—including farm-grown almonds and pistachios.

“Originality has always been the singular concept behind the design of Riverstone, so we’re striving to create a one-of-a-kind and truly creative retail experience for our nearby residents as well as for everyone in the greater Fresno and Madera region,” said Riverstone’s Tim Jones. “We’re planning Riverwalk to become a fun, vibrant, day-to-night destination that serves as a central gathering place where people of all ages can go shopping, catch a movie, enjoy a delicious farm-to-table lunch or dinner, or just hang around and do a little people-watching.”

Riverstone is a different kind of place, with the accolades to prove it. Riverstone is the winner of the prestigious Gold Award for 2018 Best Master-Planned Community of The Year from The Nationals, and was also named in 2016 as The Nationals’ Gold Award recipient for “On the Boards Community”, a distinction honoring the project’s excellence in design.

Situated in the heart of the region’s path of growth, Riverstone—when complete—will total approximately 6,578 single-family, attached and multi-family homes with historic olive and citrus groves, a sustainable water supply, and a host of family-friendly amenities.

Within Riverstone’s inaugural residential neighborhood—the Lodge District—families are enjoying the community’s first collections of stylish, innovative new homes that are now selling, as well as a number of neighborhood parks and “The Lodge” itself, a creatively envisioned, resort-style community clubhouse that’s in a class all by itself.

Exuding a contemporary-agrarian architectural style, The Lodge offers an array of exceptional amenities. Within its expansive interior spaces, residents are free to enjoy a Great Room and flexible gathering places with WiFi, a demonstration kitchen, and a state-of-the-art Fitness Center with advanced exercise equipment. Just outside, The Lodge features a resort-style pool and spa with poolside cabanas, a children’s pool, an outdoor bar with firepit conversation areas, a community garden and a Gear Barn outfitter’s cabin featuring a variety of gear available for homeowners’ on- and off-site adventures. In addition, a Concierge is stationed in The Lodge to plan community-wide events and smaller gatherings.

Upcoming amenities at Riverstone are planned to include a trail system, dog park, community farm and an elementary school belonging to the award-winning Golden Valley Unified School District.

The development of construction plans is already underway for this inaugural Riverstone education facility, which is planned to open in time for the 2021 school year.

Rising from a 16.3-acre site conveniently close to new homes, the future elementary school is expected to accommodate 625 students. The innovative campus is planned to feature tech-forward 21st century classrooms, a state-of-the-art Library/Media Center, a dedicated music room, outdoor learning spaces, a large outdoor amphitheater and a dynamic sports complex.
